Porsche 914 GT Replica Race Car

The street car arrives in Connecticut
      April 1997

It was 1993 when Rob King of S Car Go in San Rafael coaxed Jol Dantzig to take his 911 on the track. Reluctantly, Jol signed up for a "drivers ed" at Thunderhill in Northern California. That was all it took. from that moment on, it was pure obsession.

In Autumn of 1997 Jol relocated to Connecticut after living in California for almost five years. His "daily driver" 914 sat quietly in the garage until out of boredom he and a few friends decided to turn it into a race car.

What started as a weight reduction exercise, soon turned into a major project. Some years later, the car has been entirely revamped. Now powered with a 2.5Liter twin plug six, the car has provided several seasons of fun.
