Martin Belmont was a fixture on the '70s English rock scene, first with Ducks Deluxe and later with The Rumour. Introduced to Hamer by band mate Brinsley Schwartz, Belmont owned several Hamer instruments, including this Phantom A5 in metalic blue. Belmont toured with the Phantom while supporting well known British singer Graham Parker.

During these tours it was common for the Rumour to stop at the Hamer workshop for a tour and to pick out guitars. Brinsley Schwartz was a regular visitor and owned a number of Hamer Standards and double cutaway guitars too.
